Hi Kim,

My name is Michael and I'm a fellow Wordpress.com blogger.

A week or so ago, while doing some random searching across the web, I came across a blog on Blogger.com - I also discovered that the author had "re-posted" one of my fiancee's poems without permission and was trying to pass it off as his own writing.

After doing some additional checking, I discovered that almost all of the written content on that site had been "cut and pasted" verbatim from Wordpress bloggers. Your post: "Smiling in the face of fear" was one of them.

I don't know if you gave permission for that person to "re-post" your writing, but in the event that you did not, I wanted to make you aware of the situation.

You can see the "re-post" at: http://peeling-back-layers.blogspot.com/2009/01/smiling-in-face-of-fear.html

Also - I have been providing folks with two Google email addresses (Google owns Blogger) where they can file a complaint about this person. The email addresses are:

    contact-admin@google.com

    dns-admin@google.com

In addition, Wordpress has a "fill-in" form you can use to let them know that someone else has stolen your content. The link to that form is:

    http://stolen.wordpress.com/tips/

If you do file a complaint, be sure to include the direct URL to your post as well as the URL to the location is has been reposted.

Best Regards,

- michael -

Thanks for this Kim.
I've just found your blog.
Even out in rural NSW, life is a rush.
This week I have had two children away at a school camp - which left me my youngest daughter. I have really enjoyed this one on one time with her.
But it has made me realise just how fast the years are flying by - and that I need to slow down and enjoy the years that my kids are still around - especially as they will be going to boarding school soon, unfortunately.
It is hard to find the time to get everything done, let alone find time to connect with the people that you would like to.

Hi Kim, great work with the blog!
I personally find it easier to attend lunch networking events. It gives me the opportunity to break up my work day with lunch (which I very rarely stop for) as well as valuable networking time.
Having said that, the last NetworkCentral breakfast event I attended at QVB reminded me of how outstanding your events are.
Although I prefer lunch events, it's the quality of the speakers, presentation and the facilitator of the event that makes it worth the effort (regardless of when it is on).
And...always remember, apart from the professional development - it's a great opportunity to market your business. My tip -brush up on that elevator spiel.

Great article Kim. Guilt is a useless emotion but one that I have to constantly address being a mother and small business owner. When I feel guilty about something it always helps to try and understand the root cause of it not just the surface cause. Talking to other women about it and getting some great tips like this always helps!
